Laetitia Farkas grew up in Paris. After studying production at the Fémis film school, she participated in several films as producer as well as screenwriter and assistant director.
Very quickly, she came to lead video workshops across a wide variety of countries and cultures, in particular with people with mental disorders and adolescents in rehabilitation centers. These workshops in turn fed into and enhanced her own varied creative experience.

Longing for an Island is her first film. It had its world premiere at Cinéma du Réel and several international festivals.
